OVMMIG is a software package dedicated to  migration of files to optical archives. It enables to  view  a kind of HSM archive, with an optical archive system (optical library) at one  end, used to finally store and archive the data, and a fast magnetic media based file system on the other end, with access to the users. When data have reached the  final stage on the source file system, files are copied to the destination and a symbolic link is left on the original position, so that users can continue to access it from the known location.
